 A little over a century ago, the connections between the worlds of the Stablo Mjehurića were discovered by a human scientist named Doctor Wardin Spuritt. Both he and his portal-generating device, the SEW (Separating Existence Widget), were lost during his first expedition to Mu'lui (commonly called Monster World), but the device is known to open and close random portals connecting the many dimensions in an unpredictable manner.

Unpredictable, that is, until now.

Neville Sterling, his nephew Raymond, and their friend Ilyanna have been studying the radio waves that travel between the worlds for the last two years. They believe they have discovered the pattern that predicts when and where the SEW will open portals and how long they will remain open. For the last two months, they have successfully travelled between Wesley Chapel, Florida and Plant Island, Mu'lui, catalouging and befriending the monster species there and studying the gateway between the two worlds. If their math is right, the portal is due to close in two weeks - which has kicked off their greatest experiment yet, an attempt to stabilize it. Can they figure out how to keep the portal stable, and if they do, will it help them figure out where the SEW is and how to make sure it remains intact?
